It carries an original diamond foundry mark dating it to 1850. Would look beautiful over an open fireplace, existing fire or other opening. It has been stripped, cleaned, repaired, given a protective coating and polished to show off its original Victorian period character. The insert is made of solid cast iron in gorgeous condition.

It has aged beautifully with lots of texture in the patina as you will see in the photos. At the top of the arch is a stunning floral centrepiece that really sets off the item. During restoration we added a set of antique freestanding bars. However, it is great condition with no damage.

Looks stunning and is a great way to enhance an existing fireplace opening. Height to outer edge of the arch detailing: 87.5cm. Width to outer edge of the arch detailing: 70.5cm.

The inner arch finishes around 5cm further back than the rest of the surround, so this surround is best placed over an existing opening of at least 61.5cm wide and 83.5cm high.
