For sale is this lovely restored cast iron fireplace insert in a late Georgian / early Victorian style. It is made by the Carron foundry, who have been casting fireplaces using traditional methods and materials for over 150 years. This is their recreation of a classic period design. It was originally in use as a gas fire. During restoration we added a freestanding cast iron grate for solid fuel, which can be removed to make way for a gas fire again if that is your preference. It has been fully stripped, cleaned, heatproof treated and polished to bring out its character. It has been cast in a late Georgian / early Victorian style, distinguishable by its use of simple, geometrically balanced ironwork around a formal square opening.
Ours is like new and is available for much less. The fireplace and all its parts are made of solid, very heavyweight, cast iron. It features a hinged damper to assist with draw and ease of air flow. Complete with ornate fret bars and and ash cover.
This fireplace is ready to install and will add warmth and character to your home. Fits neatly into an existing fireplace opening and will fit into most standard mantle surrounds or stand proud as it is. Width to edge of decorative bevel 84cm. Height to top of decorative bevel 84cm.
Fire basket opening width 42cm. Fire basket opening height 63cm. To fit flush against the wall, hole in your chimney breast needs to be at least 69cm wide x 77.5cm high x 26cm deep.

The drivers will carry your fireplace into your home and place it in a location of your choice. If you are local to us, your item can be collected in person from our home workshop in Wilmslow, Cheshire (SK9 postcode). We will assist you where possible in loading. If you are installing a heating appliance in your home, it is your responsibility to ensure that you or your builder follows building regulations and, where applicable, complies with HETAS and GAS SAFE regulations in the UK.
