For sale is this lovely, large restored cast iron fireplace insert. It comes with a gas fire that was understood to be fully working when removed NOTE: the gas fire is not part of the sale, but we will include it with the item for free.
We are not gas engineers and cannot offer any guarantees on gas appliances. You may wish to replace the gas burner with a freestanding solid fuel grate of your own. The gas burner just lifts out of place. It has been fully cleaned, heatproof treated and polished to bring out its character. It has been cast in a Victorian arched style, distinguishable by its use of simple ironwork around a raised decorative arch.
The lovely detail and quality can be seen in the pictures both inside and outside of the fire. The fireplace and all its parts are made of solid, very heavyweight, cast iron. Complete with fully functioning damper, ornate fret bars and and ash cover. Fits neatly into an existing fireplace opening and will fit into most standard mantle surrounds or stand proud as it is. Width to outer edge of decorative arch 85cm. Height to top of decorative arch 86.5cm. To accommodate this fireplace the hole in your chimney breast wall should be at least 60cm wide x 73cm high x 25cm deep.We are a small family business specialising in restoring antique cast iron fireplaces and surrounds. Our fireplaces and surrounds are restored and finished using traditional methods and materials. A restored fireplace will bear well concealed signs of the restoration work and will have natural imperfections due to the nature of antique cast iron. This simply adds to the character of the piece in our view. Payments should be made within three days of sale. We will securely courier the item to most parts of the U.
But please check with us if you live in a remote location such as the Scottish Highlands or Channel Islands. For deliveries, we ensure all of our restored fireplaces are protective wrapped and delivered by our trusted courier, who takes great care with each item. The drivers will carry your fireplace into your home and place it in a location of your choice. If you are local to us, your item can be collected in person from our home workshop in Wilmslow, Cheshire (SK9 postcode). We will assist you where possible in loading. If you are installing a heating appliance in your home, it is your responsibility to ensure that you or your builder follows building regulations and, where applicable, complies with HETAS and GAS SAFE regulations in the UK.
