Stunning both professionally restored and beautifully refurbished cast iron fireplace. This dates to around 1860. It has had all the old paint gently removed prior to restoration/refurbishment.
Matt black colour although these are easily polished graphite/ silver with a quick buff of traditional grate polish. Width at outside leg to leg 31.
Negative rebate 1 1/2 this is where the inside arch protrudes backwards at the inside width. This means that the centre is further back than the outside edge This can be compensated in many ways 1 chip away the plaster at the centre where the fireplace touches the wall to allow the fireplace to sink in slightly until the outside edges touch the wall 2 Apply a beading around the outside edges of the fire and the back of the shelf.We have been restoring fireplaces for many many years and our standards are obvious in the finished product. All our fireplaces are reclaimed and or antiques so will often have some some evidence of this. Any fireplace restoration required is undertaken to a both a high structural and visual standard. Colour is Matt black but this can easily be buffed with grate polish for a more graphite / silver finish which is readily available online. Unfortunately we dont have a showroom we only have a small workshop amd so wrap the fireplaces up ready for safe courier dispatch once pictured.
The courier will be happy for you to open the fireplace to inspect it on its arrival. IMPORTANT IF YOU LIVE IN A EMMISION ZONE YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY THE COURIER DIRECT ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS FOR DRIVING INTO YOUR AREA. We use an independent trusted courier and have done for many years who normally covers the whole of the UK mainland on a 7 to ten day rolling cycle. You are also welcome to organise your own courier.
