Exquisite, for sale is this. Restored and complete antique cast iron fireplace from a. Period property from the turn of the Century. Known as the Scotia, it is a wonderful example of British architectural heritage which would typically have taken pride of place in a downstairs room or large bedroom.

Generous in proportion, it is made of solid, heavyweight cast iron in lovely condition with its original foundry marks on the reverse. The ironwork is rich with floral detail across the frieze and a beautiful array of pattern work around the body. The interior is just as attractive, boasting the name Scotia above the original fire stone. Fits nicely over an existing fireplace opening and comes with its original mantle, bars, grate and firestone. During restoration we added a period ash pan cover and repaired the damper flap.

The final result looks superb and is fully functioning as a fireplace, though we would recommend it for use as a decorative piece. It has discreet mounting lugs on the back of the shelf for installation. If you prefer, we can drill a couple of discreet holes on the sides of the upper body, just beneath the mantle shelf, to enable installation with a couple of strong wall screws. We will securely courier the item to most parts of the U. But please check with us if you live in a remote location such as the Scottish Highlands or Channel Islands. For deliveries, we ensure all of our restored fireplaces are protective wrapped and delivered by our trusted courier, who takes great care with each item. The drivers will carry your fireplace into your home and place it in a location of your choice. If you are local to us, your item can be collected in person from our home workshop in Wilmslow, Cheshire (SK9 postcode).

If you are installing a heating appliance in your home, it is your responsibility to ensure that you or your builder follows building regulations and, where applicable, complies with HETAS and GAS SAFE regulations in the UK.
