For sale is this fully restored, pretty antique cast iron fire surround from a Victorian period property. Would look beautiful over an open fireplace, existing fire or other opening.

Neat and well proportioned, it is perfect for somebody looking for a special finish to their room that is not too imposing. It has been professionally restored, having been stripped, cleaned, repaired, heatproof coated and burnished to bring out its original period character.

This is an original Victorian period surround. It carries original foundry marks dating it to 1883. The intricate and distinguishing ornamental roundels on the shoulders are offset by simple geometric lines and a lovely detail-lined arch.

The arch and frieze detail are raised from the main surface to add depth and stature. Comes complete with matching bars. It has mounting lugs discreetly positioned on the outer edges beneath the mantle for simple and safe installation. A couple of strong screws will secure it to the wall.

Authentic, made of solid cast iron in lovely condition which has aged beautifully. Looks beautiful and will make a lovely addition to any room.

As with all of our restorations, it may carry the odd very well concealed mark from our restoration work, but this just adds to the character of the piece in our view. Rear projection into chimney breast: 2cm. We sell online only to keep costs to the customer as low as possible and love giving and receiving! Great feedback on our beautiful restorations.
