Restored Victorian Cast Iron Insert

Restored Victorian Cast Iron Fire Insert dating back to1875. Plenty of Lovely decorative detail all in good order. Measuring 91cm high x 61cm wide extending 21cm into the wall.

Opening 77cm high x 47cm wide. We bought this insert in an unloved condition with a view to bringing it back to its former glory.

Years of old paint were removed with Eco friendly stripper. It had a light sanding then polished with Zip Grate polish. Comes with top and back original dampers.

Due to its age the original firebrick has a small piece missing see pic 6 and the grate has been strengthened underneath with welding. The bar under the back damper has had a strong repair also. None of the repairs are really noticeable but have been carried out to give a new lease of life for many years to come. See my other listings as an example.
