Vintage Timber Cast Iron Garden Bench Seat Restored. Either Late Victorian Or Edwardian. Authentic Turn Of The Century Victorian / Edwardian Cast iron Garden Bench.

The Fleur de Lis design has been synonymous with English pageantry, the church and the French monarchy for many centuries. Professionally restored with new timber, which is stained in Jacobian Oak. The slotted fixings, inkeeping with period are made of stainless steel. All ironwork is glossy black and the wood is treated Norwegian Spruce, known for its straight grain and strength, stained withJacobian Oak stain and a silky tactile varnish to finish. The slats could not be more weather resisting and the iron has already lasted over 100 years, and isn'tgoing anywhere yet. Much care and experience has gone in to rebuilding the bench, and to a higher spec than originally, by using stainless steel fixings, modern timber preservation, a superior varnish, and thicker girth timbers. With it's wealth of timber it is built to last and makes garden-centre benches look anaemic by comparison. The photos were taken on a bleakish November evening and dont really do it much justice with all the photo background noise and muddy patio, as soon Im able to I'll upload rosier pics that better show it off. Be aware, there are similar benches around professing to be restored that are missing vital support components at the back, or haven't been treated with preservative, or are simply thrown together with unsightly varying gaps between the timber slats. Some with unplaned timber, or plain steel fixngs that will rust within a couple of years. Much experience goes in to my benches and tables and you need to set aside some time before you'll find a Youtube video that even closely compares with the same expertise. I'm a firm believer that there is no greater resource in restoration work than caring. One is only as good as ones worst project result.

I have customers as far away as Newcastle and Northern Ireland, so it is doable. I cannot hold this bench for slow or non-payers or for people who intend to pay via bank transfer on my doorstep.
